Somali Women for Action (SOW4A) is committed to eliminating all forms of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and ensuring that women and girls live free from fear, harm, and discrimination. The organization provides comprehensive prevention and response interventions that address the root causes of GBV through awareness, protection, advocacy, and survivor support.
SOW4A implements community sensitization programs to challenge harmful social norms, promote women’s rights, and foster behavioral change that values respect and equality.
For survivors, SOW4A offers psychosocial support, referral pathways, medical assistance, and legal aid to help them recover with dignity and rebuild their lives. Collaboration with government agencies, healthcare providers, and justice systems strengthens the overall protection mechanism and accountability for perpetrators.
