Democracy and Women’s Political Participation

Somali Women for Change (SOW4A) promotes democratic values and inclusive governance by strengthening the participation of women in political and decision-making processes at all levels. The organization works to remove social, cultural, and structural barriers that hinder women’s leadership and political engagement.
Through leadership training, mentorship, and civic education, SOW4A empowers women to take active roles in shaping policies, contesting elections, and influencing governance systems. The organization also collaborates with government institutions, political parties, and civil society to ensure women’s equal representation in public offices and peace processes.
