Somali Women for Action (SOW4A) promotes peace, security, and social cohesion by empowering women to play an active role in conflict prevention, mediation, and reconciliation. The organization believes that sustainable peace can only be achieved when women are fully included in peacebuilding and decision-making processes.
SOW4A facilitates community dialogues, peace forums, and local mediation initiatives where women serve as key actors in resolving conflicts, strengthening trust, and promoting unity. The organization also provides training for women leaders and youth in peacebuilding, negotiation, and human rights to ensure that communities remain resilient in the face of political, clan, or resource-based conflicts.
By partnering with traditional elders, religious leaders, and local authorities, SOW4A works to create safe and inclusive environments that prioritize stability, justice, and equality — building a foundation for a peaceful and prosperous Somalia.
